Who? This program is
designed for Intermediate to Advanced skates who want a structured and
intense summer training program to prepare for major fall marathons such
as St. Paul, Northshore (Duluth), and
Athens to Atlanta
(A2A).

What? This is a 6-month
structured training program that runs either from April through the end of
September or May through the end of October. The program is designed
to aim for a peak in performance for fall events.
What
makes this program unique is the systematic way that the body's performance
systems are developed over the time course of 6 months. The athlete
first develops an aerobic base, and then gradually phases in a variety of
essential aerobic and anaerobic interval training, along with acceleration
exercises, sprinting, and recovery-oriented workouts. The result is a
complete skater, ready to achieve a peak performance in their marathon of
choice.

Overview - 24 Weeks of
Training
> 5 Weeks: Progressive Base Development.

Introduction to aerobic interval training.
> 5 Weeks: Short to mid-range anaerobic conditioning.
