level skater and coach, and is an
internationally renowned expert on

Where do most skaters get themselves into
trouble?
It's simple! Accelerations!
Increases in pace are part of inline racing, but most skaters do not
specifically train to deal with the issues of acceleration, top-end speed, and
recovery ability. SkatEtrain's unique Tabata-based training methodology
not only addresses these issues, but makes them THE
primary focus of the entire season.
E-performance is a high performance
program that emphasizes off-season
strength and power development
through strength training, plyometric exercises, slideboard
skating, skating imitations, and
maintenance of aerobic fitness.
This program will appeal to skaters
ranging from intermediate to
advanced/pro-elite.
Program options are either 3, 6 or
12 months
Who?
This
program is designed for Advanced & Pro/Elite
athletes
who are accustomed to intense training and are fit
enough to endure a high training load. This is the
most advanced training option for serious skaters,
and requires a serious commitment. It is my
desire to form long-term relationships with my
athletes, and there are only 6 spaces available for
this program.
What?
This
is a periodized program that is custom-tailored to
you, your abilities, and your competition schedule.
This program is designed to prepare you for the
demands of competition by facilitating one or more
peaks in performance. Skaters will be exposed
to a variety of interval, sprint, and recovery based
training methods in order to best prepare for
racing.

SkatEtrain Coach
Barry Publow -
one of the sports leading authorities on sport-specific training application -
has been working for months to develop a Tabata-based training protocol to be
used by competitive inline athletes. Tabata training will not
exclusively replace conventional interval methodology, but serve as the basic
building blocks for weekly microcycles and macro phases. In other words,
the Tabata workouts will serve as the main catalyst for performance
improvement, with all other training serving to enhance the body's ability to
rebuild, regenerate muscle tissue, and replenish fuel stores.
